Born in Bulawayo, Rhodesia, South Africa, and after ten years moved to Rotterdam, Holland, has provided an interesting start to Lia’s life. With her first language being English and her second language being Dutch, it has given Lia the ability to communicate verbally and in writing on an International scale. Lia moved to Canada in 1978 and resided in Calgary, Alberta, where she lived for many years.
Her past experiences are: being a keypunch operator and liaison for an International German shipping company in Holland; an interpreter at the Calgary International Airport; Office Manager - producing legal documentation in German, writing scientific documents for a Microbiological /Chemical testing laboratory; and teaching English to Landed Immigrants for the City of Calgary Government. Being a person that thrives on interaction with people has always been her main objective when making her career changes.
After raising two children, she moved to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, British Columbia to explore the beauty of nature and to live closer to the ocean. Living on Vancouver Island has provided her the opportunity to follow a long time dream of becoming a Real Estate Agent. Lia enjoys assisting her clients in selling their home or to find that special property for her buyers, by working hard to make it as stress free as possible for her clients. Her clients are located locally, in other Provinces and Internationally.
With her Buyers it is important to get as much information right at the start. It provides her with the information needed to find her clients dream home as soon as it hits the market. She strives to find a property that meets the clients needs.
With her Sellers, Lia makes sure that the property is advertised properly, and advises the Realtors in her office and organizes a tour for them. She also assists her clients in how to prepare their home for the open houses she will hold on a regular basis until SOLD.
